How will your new smile look after Invisalign? – get a preview with Smile View!
Your Invisalign Journey
1
Your Initial Appointment
At your first appointment at IQ Braces & Faces, we will study your mouth and talk to you about your aims and goals for your smile. We will be able to tell you if Invisalign is suitable for you. If you are a candidate for Invisalign, we’ll discuss the treatment protocol, estimated treatment length and costs.
2
Taking Impressions of your Teeth
The next step is the digital imaging process. Digital scan, photographs, and x-rays create an accurate model of your teeth. These are sent to the Invisalign laboratory for your custom aligner trays to be created. You will also see what your final smile will look like in 3-D imaging.
3
Fitting the First Aligner
When your Invisalign trays are ready, you return to the practice. Your dentist may fit small attachments on your teeth to help the trays stay in place. They are clear, painless to install, and temporary. Your dentist will check that your aligners fit and explain clearly how to look after them and what to expect.
4
Follow-Up Appointments
You will change the aligners every 7-14 days depending on your plan, which will gently shift your teeth into the desired position as your treatment progresses. Aligners are removed for eating, drinking and brushing but otherwise should be worn at all times. If worn as prescribed, normally 22 hours per day, you will get the results you are looking for.
5
Final Result – a Beautiful Smile
After a period of time, your teeth will have straightened to the desired position. The final results always depend on the severity of misalignment, but if you wear your aligners as prescribed, you are guaranteed to have straighter teeth.
6
Retention with Vivera Retainers
After completing treatment, you will be given Vivera retainers to keep your smile straight. It is important you wear retainers as prescribed by your orthodontic clinician, as otherwise they may start to move back. Please see our Retainers page for detailed information. Then off you go to enjoy your incredible new smile!

Invisalign FAQs
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign aligners gradually move your teeth using gentle, controlled force. You’ll wear a new set of aligners every 1–2 weeks as your teeth shift into place.
Is Invisalign painful?
Most people experience only mild pressure or tightness when starting a new set of aligners. This is a sign they’re working and usually fades within a day or two.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Treatment times vary, but most patients complete their Invisalign journey in 6 to 24 months, depending on the complexity of the case.
How often do I need to wear my aligners?
You should wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink (except water), brush, and floss.
Can I eat and drink with Invisalign?
Yes! Simply remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. This means no food restrictions- unlike traditional braces.
Will Invisalign affect my speech?
You may notice a slight lisp for the first few days, but most patients adapt very quickly and speak normally soon after starting treatment.
How do I clean my Invisalign aligners?
Rinse them regularly with cool water and brush them gently with a soft toothbrush. Special cleaning crystals or solutions are also available.
Is Invisalign suitable for complex cases?
Mild to moderate cases are ideal, but even some more complex cases can be treated with Invisalign – especially when planned by experienced specialists like our team.
What happens after Invisalign treatment?
You’ll need to wear a retainer to maintain your results. We provide guidance and support to help keep your smile looking great long-term.
Is Invisalign more expensive than braces?
Costs are often comparable, and many patients find the convenience and discreet appearance of Invisalign well worth the investment. We can offer flexible payment plans to make treatment more affordable.
Do you offer finance for Invisalign treatment?
Yes we do offer finance for Invisalign treatment. Visit our Finance page for more information.
